Getting started
Sign in as a guest or with an email code, choose a gamer tag and a faction, and found your keep.
Cedarfall is a persistent fantasy world. You rule a walled keep, grow it, send expeditions into the frontier and watch the map slowly open around you. The server runs everything: your timers keep ticking while you are away.
Two ways to sign in
| Way | How it works |
|---|---|
| Continue as guest | Play straight away. Guest accounts last 43,200 seconds (12 hours); link an email before then to keep your progress. |
| Sign in with email | Enter your email and press Send code. We email a 6-digit code. Enter it to sign in. There are no passwords. |
About the email code:
- The code is 6 digits and expires after 10 minutes.
- You can ask for a new one after about a minute.
- Five wrong tries lock that code; request a fresh one.
- Using the email on a guest account links it, so your progress is protected and you can switch devices.
- If the email already belongs to another account, the game asks you to choose: sign in to that account instead, or keep going as you are. Nothing is merged silently.
Guest accounts last 12 hours
A guest account locks 12 hours after you create it. Your progress is not deleted, but you can no longer play it. To keep it, tap Claim account on the banner at the bottom of the map (it counts down the time left and turns amber under 3 hours and red under 1 hour), or use Settings, Secure your account, before the time runs out: enter your email, then the 6-digit code. Your keep, resources and troops stay exactly as they are and the 12-hour limit goes away. If you see "Your guest account expired", sign in with your email, or start a new guest. If the email already belongs to another account, nothing is merged; sign in to that account instead.
How long you stay signed in
Each login lasts 30 days on that device. The 30 days are counted from the moment you log in, not extended by playing. After that you sign in again with a new code. See Troubleshooting if you see "session expired".
Your gamer tag
When you create your account you choose a name. This is your public gamer tag.
- Other players see it on your keep, on your outposts and on stats cards.
- It is tied to your account (and so to your email), but your email is never shown to anyone.
- Rules are in Names and community rules: 3 to 20 characters, and profanity and reserved names are rejected.
Choose a faction
You pick one of two factions: the Velmoran Crown or the Torvayne Compact.
Your first minutes
- Your keep starts with only the Keep and 100 militia, plus a small stock of resources. See Your keep.
- Tap an empty plot and choose New Building. Farms, lumberyards and quarries must be built before you earn anything from them.
- Build a Barracks to train troops. See Units and training.
- A short First steps checklist under the build queue tracks these (Farm, Lumberyard and Quarry, scout, send troops, read your report, found an outpost). You can skip it any time.
- Explore the map and scout a target before sending an expedition.
