Hollow Host monsters and lairs
The undead and monster faction of the frontier, how lairs spawn, and how respawns work.
The Hollow Host is a faction of undead and monsters. Both player factions raid it for spoils.
Lairs and difficulty by distance
Lairs spawn in opened chunks. The farther from the world's centre, the harsher the lairs that can appear:
| Lair | Tier | Appears at least this far from the world centre | Respawn after a clear | Spawn weight | About |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ghoul Warren | 1 | 0 tiles | 30m | 3 | A burrow of ravenous ghouls. They guard what they dug up from old graves. |
| Bone Crypt | 2 | 150 tiles | 1h | 2 | A sealed crypt where skeletons rise to guard buried coin. |
| Werewolf Den | 2 | 150 tiles | 1h | 2 | A den of werewolves that hunt in packs at the edge of the realm. |
| Wraith Hollow | 3 | 400 tiles | 2h | 1 | A cold hollow haunted by wraiths and wailing banshees. Armor barely helps here. |
| Horde Barrow | 4 | 700 tiles | 4h | 1 | The mound where a Hollow Host horde gathers. A ghoul alpha leads it. |
Each lair also comes in Low, Medium and High strengths. See Lairs and monsters for defenders and rewards.
Respawn cooldowns
When a lair is cleared it does not return immediately. It enters a cooldown listed above and the map shows "cleared, returns in ...". Only one clear is paid per cooldown window. If two players win against the same lair at nearly the same time, only the first arrival collects the reward.
Tips
- Scout first. See Scouting.
- Bring plenty of armor-heavy troops against skeletons, but expect wraiths to ignore half of it.
- Bigger lairs pay better and hold harder fights. Distances unlock the higher tiers.
