Units and training
Militia and archers, the Barracks and Archery Yard, and how the training queue behaves.
Your troops
There are two unit types today: militia (spear infantry) and archers (ranged). They are the same for both factions. Full stats are in Units.
Training
- Militia train at the Barracks. Archers train at the Archery Yard, which needs Keep level 1.
- Pay the cost up front and the batch begins. A single order can be up to 100 units.
- Open the Barracks or Archery Yard, pick a batch size and tap Train. Each building keeps up to 3 batches (the level sets the largest batch). Batches run one after another, and the queue strip at the top shows them as "Train 10 Militia".
- You can cancel a batch for a refund (a batch that has not started refunds in full, a running one refunds the unfinished part) and speed up the running batch with Cedar Marks. Queued batches cannot be sped up until they start.
- This queue is separate from the construction queue, so you can build and train together.
- Training finishes even if you are offline. Troops are added to your garrison once.
How many can I send?
Your Keep lets you send a small army from day one: 20 infantry and 10 archers at Keep level 1, growing with each Keep level. Barracks levels add more infantry slots, and Archery Yard levels add more archer slots on top. If you try to send more than your limit, the game tells you your maximum. The Rally Hall raises how many expeditions can be out at once. See Buildings.
Upkeep
Troops cost food. The upkeep appears when you plan an expedition; see Expeditions and travel.
