CCEDARFALL Player Guide

The world map

The isometric map, fog of war, chunks that open over time, and stats cards.

Last updated 30 October 2026

The world map is the heart of Cedarfall. It is a large isometric map you can drag to pan. Your keep, other players' keeps, outposts, resource sites and Hollow Host lairs all appear on it.

Fog of war

Every tile is in one of three states:

StateWhat you see
UnexploredNothing. Unexplored tiles never show what is on them.
DiscoveredYou have seen it before. Terrain and known landmarks are shown.
VisibleInside your current sight right now.

Your keep sees 6 tiles around it to begin with. A Watchtower is meant to extend this (see Buildings).

Exploring

You explore by surveying an unexplored tile from the edge of ground you already know. When the party arrives, the server saves the revealed area. The reach is 12 tiles from known ground, and each survey reveals a radius of 8 tiles.

For now each keep can send one survey every 86,400 seconds (24 hours), counted from when the last survey was sent. If you try sooner, the game tells you when your scouts will be ready. A survey that is refused does not use up the wait. While the scouts rest, the Survey button shows when they will be ready. The scout marker walks to the tile and disappears when it arrives, and the new land appears without you tapping anything.

Chunks open over time

The world is divided into chunks of 32 by 32 tiles. New chunks are opened by the game's world worker as the realm fills up, and players cannot open them directly. Only a limited number open per hour so growth is steady. Anything in a chunk that has not opened yet cannot be seen or targeted. As the world grows, new land and new lairs appear near the edge.

New keeps are placed around the world's centre, at least 32 tiles apart.

Stats cards

Tap anything on the map to open its stats card:

  • Your keep: your own buildings, resources, troops and queue.
  • Other players' keeps: public info such as a tier (Fledgling, Established or Veteran), a power band and how recently they were active. Exact troops and resources stay hidden.
  • Sites and lairs: strength band and what they yield. A lair that was cleared shows when it returns. Scout it for a better estimate. See Scouting.
  • Outposts: name, owner and size of the garrison. See Outposts.

Coordinates

Negative coordinates are normal: the world extends in every direction from the centre.
